Let's get acquainted

I am a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Psychotherapist. My pronouns are she/her. My professional experience spans from the nonprofit and corporate sectors to private practice. Most recently, I worked at the Soho Center for Mental Health Counseling Services, a group private practice and clinical psychotherapy center.

I work with adults, conducting both individual and couples therapy. I offer psychotherapy from a harm reduction perspective for clients who are preparing for psychedelic use, and I provide post-experience integration psychotherapy to foster ongoing growth. I obtained a Master’s Degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, both from New York University. I am proficient in French, Arabic and Armenian and if your first and preferred language is one of those, I am comfortable practicing therapy in these languages. I am based in New York City, and also provide teletherapy in New York and telecoaching globally.

Approach

My Approach

I embrace the courage it takes to better understand who we are and the choices we make. We sometimes get trapped in our own stories. I will challenge your self-defeating beliefs in a direct but respectful way, while fully supporting your personal growth.

Together, we will explore how you can bring more fulfillment to your life through self-awareness, and we will design concrete, practical steps to undertake to achieve your goals in an open, non-judgmental, and welcoming environment.

I work with my clients to gain a better understanding of who they truly are and what they want - independent of social and familial constructs - while exploring ways to help them find purpose, acceptance and inner peace. I believe our true self emerges when we shed the social persona and integrate our identity with the unconscious parts of ourselves, thus rediscovering who we truly are.

I use existential and psychodynamic therapeutic approaches, and Internal Family Systems and shadow work frame my perspective.

My Services

Services

Sometimes it’s not easy to find our purpose in life and you may find yourself feeling detached from who you truly are and how you want to live your life. I will help you navigate the different areas of your life in a safe, trusting, and supportive environment. I will work closely with you to better understand why you may feel dissatisfied or unfulfilled, help you find meaning and purpose in your life, and encourage you to identify and achieve your goals through therapy.

When we measure our worth and happiness through arbitrary, majority-held values that don’t speak to us, we start being critical of our achievements and lose our self-esteem.  I will help you normalize and accept your unique way of seeing what is important and help you celebrate your contributions, strengths and successes.

Sometimes we feel stuck in our choices and it feels like we are compromising who we are in our relationship, but it doesn’t have to be that way. I support a couple’s need to explore their own path and to create an open and non-judgmental space to be their authentic selves, maintain healthy boundaries and still be able to thrive in their relationship.

I specialize in communication issues, pain resulting from breaches of trust, as well as sexual, emotional, intellectual and digital intimacy challenges. I work with couples in traditional and nontraditional relationships, monogamous and non-monogamous partnerships, and fully appreciate the complex makeup of open relationships.

Sometimes life does not turn out the way we envisioned, and choices we may have made create challenges in our present and future. I believe that deep change can happen and will help you remove the personal obstacles that may be in your way, as well as support you through life transitions.

The way we think about ourselves carries over to all areas of our lives and sometimes our own projections and interpretations are what stand between us and what we want to achieve in our lives. Change is hard, but through guidance and counseling, you will feel like you have more agency and control over your experiences and the outcome of your decisions.
